I've seen a lot of computer repair shops come and go over the years. The largest ones, like Best Buy's Geek Squad, survive with ridiculously high prices, diagnostic fees, a lot of annoying cross selling and large advertising budgets. My prices are low, diagnostic exams are waved if repair is completed, I won't annoy you with cross selling, you communicate with me and only me during your repair and I rely solely on word-of-mouth advertising.

In my nearly 30 years in the computer repair field, I have worked for companies where I managed and oversaw people under me. Today, my personal workshop is connected to my home and is where I do all my repairs. Nothing more extravagant is necessary to get the job done correctly.
To keep my prices low and cut major overhead, I've converted the front of my home into a mini storefront. This works out great for customer drop offs and pick ups, as well as for selling my refurbished laptops that are on display. I'm not Best Buy, but then neither are my prices or tactics. DJM Computer Repair is a small home business, through and through.
